As I was pondering what to put as my subject line, I am pretty sure that all that could come out was that...
What a CRAZY week! I know that I told ya'll last week that Sis. Hummel and I were being separated and both of us are training in NC. Sister Hummel went to Nags Head and I am staying in Elizabeth City. Well, Wednesday was mostly spent coordinating with the Elders before they left about their area book and then saying goodbye to people for Sis. Hummel. Then Thursday, we went up to Richmond to pick up our new comps. We picked them up and brought them back home. At transfers I wasn't able to see Sis. Moldenhauer like we thought because they sent her old comp down with other missionaries so that Sis. Moldy and Sis. Nugent could keep working. Anyway, everything happened in such a rush when we got back that I didn't really get to say goodbye to Sis. Hummel. It's been crazy though because we are in the same district and are the closest missionaries to each other, so I'll get to see her this week on Friday. Our new comps were actually MTC comps, so that is fun. We might even get to do exchanges with them...maybe?! So my new comp is Sister Moss. She is from Bountiful, UT and is a rock star missionary! I don't know if I know of any missionary who has their purpose so internalized! It has been fun these last few days...but insane. I have completely forgotten what it is like to have a new companion. It's coming along and we are starting to get into the swing of things. I am grateful for her and her desire to learn and be the best missionary she can be. It also helps me to realize why my former comps were always a little stressed! :) There is a lot to ponder and think about when it is your responsibility to make sure that you are all being obedient and doing everything you need to do to be effective.
I am excited for the great work that we are going to do here. Sis.Moss has such a bold testimony! The majority of the time I feel like she knows more than me...which is very humbling. Plus it is so much fun to have all of the fresh ideas from the MTC! I am grateful for her.
Other than that, the work has been progressing forward! After tonight we are planning on having 2 people set for baptism. That will be great! Sabrina's baptism had to be moved back for scheduling reasons, but we are sitting down and hashing that all out tonight. And there is another girl who is just waiting until she is 18 before she can be baptized and she turns 18 this month. We are pretty excited and I am excited for Sis. Moss to set some people for baptism. There's nothing like it!
Well, to be honest, my mind is going at about 100mph right now. So I will leave you with my testimony and some shout outs!
I know that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ! I know that the Book of Mormon is not only another testament of the Savior, but it is evidence that He loves us enough to call another prophet for our day! What a grand time we live in!
Love,
Sister Abbott
