OBX Here I come!!

Well, our plans changed slightly...the woman who is taking us to Nags Head today had to work at the family history center this morning, so we aren't leaving until noon. So we are e-mailing the whole time. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything about being short with e-mailing time. I only heard from Dad and Dani. Thank you by the way.

This week has had it's ups and downs. It is looking like Brea won't be getting baptized this weekend. We were a little down about it, but she will be getting baptized later in April so that it will be a calm weekend for her family. They want it to be a special day that she will be able to relax and enjoy. It kind of took the wind out of our sails, but have no fear... a little chocolate, some peanut butter, and prayer have lifted us out. Ok, so really the prayer did most of the work, but the chocolate and pb helped us hang in there until the comfort came. All is well. She is hopefully going to be interviewed this week still since we have taught her almost everything and she is ready for baptism. She is such an amazing girl! I truly hope I survive one more transfer at least so I can be here for her baptism and the Riddick baptism.

Stacy and Gabriel Riddick are doing well. They had a death in the family so they weren't at church. But they are doing family prayer and scripture study every day and we haven't even taught them about it yet! Stacy just knows that it brings peace into her home, so she does it! I love them so much and they are going to be such an awesome family in the gospel! Oh, so we taught her two sons (Xavier-13 and Gabriel-10) last Wednesday and Saturday and set Gabriel for baptism with his mom. Xavier won't be getting baptized yet because he has autism, but Stacy is hopeful that in a few years he might be able to be prepared. We read from Moroni 8 and she feels at peace with knowing that Christ has provided a way for Xavier to return to live with God again with her family! She has such faith! I find it interesting that I learn much more about the fundamentals of the gospel from investigators than I teach them. We preach about faith and testify of the blessings. They plant the seed and start to nourish it...what a blessing to witness that! I love being a missionary!

Sabrina is out of town until Sunday. I miss that girl! I am so excited for her baptism and conference next weekend. MOm--Sabrina is like taking my crazy kookiness and mixing it with the squirrel from Over the Hedge....needless to say, we get along great! Her mom said that she thinks it took a missionary as wacky as me to be able to get through to her. Who would have thought that my insanity would help me to be an instrument in the Lord's hands!

Last week, we were asked to do Sharing time for Primary this Sunday. It went well. Sis. Moss is awesome! She's a natural.

Our Easter was great! Sis. Moss--oh I mean the Easter Bunny made me a little bag of goodies and I--I mean the Easter Bunny hooked up Sis. Moss as well. It was fun. And then at church, a ton of people gave us stuff. Our chocolate supply is well stocked again...even after last night! :)

Things are going really well. I love being a missionary! Sis. Moss and I are really starting to get into the flow of things together. I think we might be through the "new companion" transitional period. I pray that I will be able to stay here next transfer with her. 7 1/2 months isn't that long to be in an area, right?! I love Elizabeth City!

Well, I hope Matt's wedding went well! I am sure it was a blast! I was glad to see that Szabo Elder made it safe and sound to Hungary. He looks good! I am so proud of him! How much postage does it take send a letter to him? How's Ben? How did he feel about missing Matt's wedding? If he is a little down, just let him know that he and I are in the same boat--getting to serve the Lord and help bring others to Christ to receive the blessings of the Temple! Isn't it grand?! Missing Josh's wedding was hard...especially knowing that the family was all together. But that was a real turning point in my mission. The Spirit taught me so much about what I am really doing out here. I am on a mission for the Father! My family has their own projects going on, but right now...for the only time in my life, I am working on a one on one project with my Father in Heaven. What a blessing?! Life doesn't get any better than that! I love serving!
Well, I am going to try to attach some pictures! Hope you like them. The Easter Bunny sent me a package in the mail last week!! Sis. Moss and I really enjoyed it! And we used most of the candy in object lessons this week! :)

Oh and I added some fun Zone Conference pics!

Random--We saw a really big possum up close and Sis. Moss pointed out that they look like mini ROUS' from Princess Bride.

Love,
Sister Abbott
